September 25, 2009 - First place in P-30 Open at the 2009 United States Free Flight Championships (USFFC) Clint Brooks flew his BOOMER to first place in in the Open P-30 event at the 2009 USFFC. Clint flew five maxes before dropping short on the sixth. Conditions were tough for picking air-there was heat plus wind shifts every hour or so that kept the field guessing. The airplane performed consistently throughout and was delivering 4-5 minute flights every attempt until Clint put up his sixth flight on the backside of a small thermal that just didn't carry it long enough for the max. May 16-17, 2009 - First and Third places at the 2009 San Diego Orbiteers and Fresno Gas Model Club dual meet At the 51st annual dual meet put on by the San Diego Orbiteers and Fresno Gas Model Club dual meet this past weekend, the Boomer MkII took first and third place wins. Clint reports that the day was great and getting good air was really no problem. Clint Brooks flew 5 maxes and lost his model on the 5th max. Nobody was able to challenge him, so he stopped flying at that point rather than bring out a backup model. with such good weather, Clint says he was surprised there weren't any challengers but said it felt good to see the BOOMER perform so consistently. Richard Browning flew his BOOMER and won third place with his as a first time competitor. for more pictures of Richard's
